I like muted tones and neutral colors as much as the next guy, but it's high summer and the lights are on. So break out the phthalo blue and turn the saturation dial to 11. ⁠⁠This is the water tower in Lakeview Woods Park, Madison Wisconsin. The building I think is abandoned, but it's part of the grounds of what is now the Dane County Human Services Department. This is my first crack at throwing some architecture into my paintings, and frankly I was a little nervous about doing all those hard edges and straight lines. I used a proportion divider to block in the shapes and it worked great. just layed in a few key points and worked out the rest from there.⁠Thanks to whoever parked that brand new bright red snowplow blade in just the right spot for an accent!⁠⁠
